Did You Know that “Baby Shark”….
….is the most viewed video of all-time on YouTube? "Baby Shark" originated from a ‘campfire song’ where each member of a family of sharks is introduced with different hand motions. Different versions of the song have the sharks hunting fish, eating a sailor, or killing people who then go on to Heaven.
The "Baby Shark" song was further popularized by a video produced by Pinkfong, an educational brand of South Korean startup SmartStudy. The original video for "Baby Shark" was uploaded in 2015 and was sung by then-10-year-old Korean-American singer Hope Segoine. The music video featured two child actors.
The most popular video of the "Baby Shark" song (labeled as "Baby Shark Dance" in 2016) received just over 7 billion views worldwide when in November of 2020, it became the most viewed video on YouTube passing “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and featuring Daddy Yankee.
